Additional Information/Consideration

For the Novice:

Today there are personal carriers for every occasion, whether it be a Fanny Pack, Baby Carrier, or some other multipurpose Camping Gear carrier. The most common of which for hunters, campers, and hikers is called a Day Backpack. With this in mind, it can't hurt to have a little knowledge in what to look for in a Day Backpack.

Unlike a Fanny Pack Baby Carrier, or low-profile Camping Gear carrier; the Day Backpack for rugged out door use needs to have a lot more technical know-how built in than the day pack kids use to cart around books and music. First of all, a Day Backpack usually holds more than you would need for just a day. Most of them are capable of carrying enough supplies for 1-3 days. But, there can still be a range of sizes to choose from - so, go with a Day Backpack in the 1500-2500 cubic inch range. About mid-point in that range will serve you well.

Like a Fanny Pack, Baby Carrier, and other Camping Gear carriers, the Day Backpack must be waterproof. This should be non-negotiable. The clothes you pick and pack in your Day Backpack will depend on the current season and projected weather; but, in any case, as with all packs, the contents must stay dry.

As in using a Fanny Pack, Baby Carrier, or other Camping Gear carrier, common sense must prevail. When packing your Day Backpack, the first items packed should be the ones least used (least to more frequent). Use the outside pockets or compartments for those things frequently needed (possibly - wallet, car keys, map, energy snacks, water bottle, etc.). As with using the Fanny Pack, Baby Carrier, or another Camping Gear carrier - a little fore-thought might pay big dividends in the end.

Remember to take a first-aid-kit. Let someone know where you're headed and when you'll return. HAVE A GOOD TREK!

Also provided in this Online Store is a Fanny Pack, Baby Carrier, and other Camping Gear/multi-purpose carriers!
